If you are Holtering your dog through the Doberman Diversity Project with a Type Three Package, which includes Cardiologist review and submission to the OFA, this form is for you.
The OFA Advanced Cardiac Database is a two-tiered clearance system with two parts.
Part One: OFA Cardiac Clearance for CONGENITAL (inherited) cardiac disease, and Part Two: OFA Cardiac Clearance for ADULT-ONSET cardiac disease. Yes, Doberman Holter reports must be accompanied by a RECENT (no older than 90 days) Echocardiogram report by a diplomate-status Veterinary Cardiologist.
Only if your vet is a diplomate-status Veterinary Cardiologist. Current OFA rules require that all cardiac exams are done by a VETERINARY CARDIOLOGIST with diplomate status.
Review by a licensed vet who is not a Cardiologist is no longer accepted. For Congenital cardiac disease clearance, for the dog's lifetime.
For Adult-Onset cardiac disease clearance, for one year. |
IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING YOU KNOW AND COMPLY WITH OFA RULES.
